Presented by Elevator Bath. Matt Shoemaker manipulates sound sourced from both natural and electronic means in an affected and often grotesque manner, so as to convey compositions that uniquely imagine a space encrypted to the point of vanishing definition. Adam Pacione is a Ft. Worth-based sound artist who’s work primarily falls within the ambient/drone genre. Colin Andrew Sheffield focuses on the strict re-contextualization of commercially available recordings, distilling the essential qualities of these works for use in new compositions.

Seattle Composers' Salon
The Seattle Composers' Salon is an informal presentation of new music by regional composers. The salon meets the first Friday of every other month, and features finished works, previews, and works-in-progress. It brings together composers, performers and audience members in a casual concert setting that allows for discussion and experimentation. Tonight: recent music by Yvonne Hoar, Doug Palmer, Steve Scribner, Ben Houge, and Jeffrey Izzo.

Scrape
Jim Knapp and Eyvind Kang's string orchestra Scrape presents new music featuring Jessika Kenney, guest vocalist. Premieres include Eyvind's Lady Welby, a piece based on a new algebraically inspired notational system, and three works by Jim: From Burnt Norton, Listening to Reason, and Approaching Yvones. The self-led, democratic orchestra comprises improvising-friendly professional string players with concertmaster Heather Bentley and guitarist Gregg Belisle-Chi. (Video here.)
